Nutrition and Basic Needs Assistance
Pirate Pantries
The Belton Educational Foundation, along with volunteers and community support , operates Pirate Pantries in five locations within the Belton School District. Our Pirate Pantry Program offers a space where students can access and shop for weekend food, clothing, hygiene items, clothing, coats, hats, glove and more with the help of some very special volunteers.
Students can also access the pantries by contacting their school counselors or nurses for emergency needs.
BackSnacks
BEF partners with Harvesters to provide weekend food for 200 Belton children (preschool through 6th grade) each week. We are grateful for volunteers who help to deliver BackSnacks fro our office to all of the schools. BackSnacks replace on the weekend, the meals that children would have gotten at school on a school day - breakfast, lunch and a snack.
Shoes, Coats and MORE!
Partnerships with several community organizations and individual donors helps us to be able to provide these important items for students in need.
Children must have appropriate well fitting shoes to be able to run, play and participate in PE and sports. Our BEF shoe closet stores new shoes in all sizes, so that when children come to school in shoes that are falling apart, ill-fitting, or inappropriate for running and playing, we can deliver a new pair of shoes (and socks) to them within a day. School counselors, nurses, and teachers just send an email and we get it taken care of!
BEF Helps with Meeting Basic Needs for Students
Have you ever tried to focus on something when you are hungry?
We know that children must have their basic needs met for optimal growth and development, but also to maximize their learning.
Donations Always accepted for our Pirate Pantries
We rely on community support for our Pirate Pantries. We are always accepting donations - especially food donations.
Donations can be dropped off at our office (321 Colbern) between 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday or at any Belton school.
Are you part of a group or organization who would like to partner with us on a shoe, clothing, or food drive?
Call or email us! Let's talk about how we can work together for our Belton children!
